sayit for Safari
- Web app only
- Checked 2026-09
How it works
Open the web app in Safari
Go to the sayit web app on Mac or iPhone — no download, no App Store.
Allow microphone access
Safari asks once per site; allow it to start recording.
Record and get scored
The same analysis engine as every other platform: a per-word verdict and target-vs-actual IPA for every sound.
What actually works here
- The complete scoring engine — per-word clarity, phoneme-level IPA, the same as Chrome or Edge
- Works on both macOS Safari and iOS Safari, so it's the same experience on a Mac or an iPhone
- No install, no account required to try it
What this doesn't do
Worth knowing before you start
- No in-page "select a sentence, get a toolbar" experience — that feature is extension-only, and there's no Safari extension
- No meeting-recap feature — that also lives in the Chrome/Edge extension
- Needs an internet connection; nothing runs offline
Straight answers
Is there a sayit extension for Safari?
No. The Chrome/Edge extension isn't available for Safari. The web app itself works fully in Safari, so you don't lose the ability to practise — you lose the on-page select-and-practise toolbar specifically.
Does recording actually work in Safari?
Yes — the recorder falls back to a format Safari supports natively, so recording and scoring work the same as any other browser.
Should I use Safari or Chrome?
If you want the in-page toolbar and meeting recap, use Chrome or Edge with the extension installed. For everything else, Safari works exactly the same.
Ready to practise on Safari?
Free, no card — record one sentence and see exactly which sounds to fix.
