Four criteria. We can hear two of them.
Your band is the average of four equally weighted criteria. Audio can support two of them well. We measure those two and say plainly that we do not measure the others.
Fluency and Coherence
measured hereCan you keep going at a natural pace, without long pauses or fillers?
Measured here: words per minute, long pauses, filler words and rhythm from your audio.
Pronunciation
measured hereAre your sounds clear? Do stress and intonation carry the meaning?
Measured here: every sound against its target in IPA, pitch range, word stress.
Lexical Resource
not measuredRange and precision of vocabulary, and paraphrasing when a word is missing.
Not measured. We show your transcript so you can judge it, and we say so on every result.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy
not measuredComplex structures attempted, and how often errors appear.
Not measured. Our band estimate is built only from the two criteria above.
One cue card a day beats a weekend of model answers.

Tell us when you sit the test and the band you need. Most universities ask for 6.5 or 7.0.

One cue card a day
Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 rotate through the week. Sunday goes to your weakest part. Ten minutes, every day.

Band trend and what to fix
Every answer gets an estimated band, the gap to your target and two examiner notes. Watch the trend, not one take.
What each half band sounds like.
Fluency and pronunciation only. This is the ladder your daily estimate climbs.
- 5.0
Keeps talking, but repeats and hesitates; sound slips often cost clarity.
- 5.5
Usually understood; hesitation and mispronounced sounds still interrupt the flow.
- 6.0
Keeps going without long silences; understood despite slips.
- 6.5
Steady pace; sound slips rarely change the meaning.
- 7.0
Rarely pauses mid-clause; keeps every final consonant.
- 7.5
Varies pitch on purpose; understood without effort.
Straight answers.
- Is this an official IELTS score?
- No. It is a practice estimate built from your fluency and pronunciation. Only a trained examiner gives an official band, and they also mark vocabulary and grammar, which we do not measure.
- How accurate is the band estimate?
- It is calibrated to the two criteria we can hear and capped at 8.5. Treat it as a trend signal: the same speaker scored on the same criteria, day after day. A single take can be off by half a band; a two-week trend is honest.
- Why is it free?
- The speaking scorer is the front door to sayit. Free accounts get one cue card a day and 30 minutes of scored practice a month. Paid plans buy more practice time and history, never a different scorer.
- Does it work for IELTS Academic and General Training?
- Yes. The Speaking test is identical for both. Every Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 cue card here applies to either.
- What about the Part 2 long turn?
- Part 2 cards give you one minute to prepare and up to two minutes to speak, timed like the test. The notes pay attention to whether you kept going and whether your pace held to the end.
- Can my coaching institute use it with students?
- Yes. Teachers can set cue cards, follow each student's band trend and export progress. Write to us and we will set up a classroom. Contact us.
